About
I'm a robotics engineer. I've spent my career looking at robotics from three angles: doing the research, building the tools, and talking with the people who turn it into companies.
The research came first: quadrotors, computer vision, legged locomotion, and human-robot interaction, across a few labs. Then several years at Open Robotics on ROS 2, the leading open-source framework for building robot software. I was the release lead for ROS 2 Humble and worked on projects for NVIDIA, NASA, and others. Through acquisitions it became Intrinsic and then Google. Now I work at Google on Intrinsic's motion planning team.
The whole time, I've been interviewing roboticists: since 2014, first for Robohub, then Sense Think Act, and now the Audrow Nash Podcast. It's unscripted and usually over an hour. Founders, CTOs, investors, and researchers on how their robots work, how the business makes money, and what they've gotten wrong. More than a hundred robotics startups now. If you're building or backing one, that's the vantage point I can offer.
I live in Lockhart, Texas, a couple of minutes from Proto-Town.
